The Annapurna conservation area (ACA) is located in the central part of Nepal. It is Nepal's first and largest conservation area. It has grown to over 7,600 sq. km. since the first trekker came to the Annapurna area in 1957. It is the most geographically and culturally diverse protected area in the world. It has people of different cultures and lifestyles, steep terraces, lush forest, barren plateaus, Mountain-desert, the deepest Kali Gandaki gorge, Annpurna I (8091m; the eight highest mountain) and Machhapucchare Fishtail 6993m) the must beautiful mountain and other beautiful Mountain peaks. It is also an excellent habitat for a wide variety of plants and animals that reflect the lands' biological diversity. Recent surveys have recorded 1226 species of plants, 38 species of orchids, 9 species of Rhododendrons, 101 species of mammals, 478 species of birds, 39 species of reptiles and 22 species of amphibians in the Annapurna conservation area.
The Annapurna region is the most popular trekking area in the world. We offer long and short day-treks as indicated below:
1. Annapurna circuit (AC) trek
Duration: 19 days
Trek start/end: At Besisahar (drive from Kathmandu 7hrs) and Naya Pool by Taxi/bus to Pokhara
Trek style: Lodge/teahouse trek
Grade: Challenging
Highest elevation: Thorong La 5416m
Ethnic group: Majority of Gurungs, Thakalis & Magars
Lakes: Gangapurna Lake, Ice Lake and World highest Tilicho Lake.
On the first day, one travels to Besisahar by bus or van. From there, one walks through beautiful countryside before arriving at the lovely destination of Manang where trekkers spend two or more than two nights for acclimatizing before pushing to Thorong La pass. There are interesting places for hiking for around Manang. A steady climb from Manang leads to Thorong la pass at 5416m. From there, the summit of the trek, one rather rapidly descends into the holy city of Muktinath. On the following day, one often treks to Jomsom, to the deepest gorge Kali Gandaki valley (see photos below) to Tatopani where is hot spring at bank of Kaligandaki river. Thereafter, ascent to Gorepani/Poon hill that is best place to see panoramic view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Decent to Uleri (Gurung village) Birethati/Nayapool by walk then drive to Pokhara and returns to Kathmandu by Tourist bus.
On this trek, you can see Mt. Lamjung, Manaslu (8163 m), Pisang peak, Annapurna I (8091 m), II, III, IV and south, Gangapurna, Chulu East and West, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri I (8167 m), II, most beautiful Mt. Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) 6993m and Hiuchuli peak etc.
The trek's highest point is Thorong la pass. The photo shown below is that of Jon Little, Chheduk man lama, Dan Little, and Sanjay lama; it was taken on a beautiful day in late June of 2001, at the summit. As you can see by the smiles, they were a happy lot.
On this trail, you will be villages, lush forest, streams, rivers, and barren plateaus, the holy place, Muktinath, where you can see nature flame, Buddhist people and Monasteries, as well as the always-windy place Jomsom.

The trek starts from Kathmandu and traverses to Pokhara by bus. Pokhara to Nayapool by bus/Taxi and trek to Gorepani/Poon hill and decent to Tatopani (hot-spring) and to the deepest gorge Kali Gandaki valley (see photos below) to Muktinath by walk. This classic trek start from Kathmandu to Pokhara by bus. Pokhara to Gorepani/Poon hill Chhumrung (Gurung village) to Modi Khola valley to MBC to ABC by walk. It is walk right into the heart of mountain because it is lies on among Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), II, III, IV, South beautiful Mt. Fishtail and other several mountain peaks. You can see more icefalls from MBC and ABC. On this trek, you will be Gurung villages, lush forest, and ice. Machhapuchhre (Fishtail; 6993m), Annapurna South, Hiuchuli from Dampus and Gandrung villages. On this trek, the highest point is Poon Hill (3210m) where you can see panoramic view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
Poon Hill is one of the best Himalayan viewpoints in Annapurna. In the spring season, these treks always color forest because of the Rhododendron bloom every year. This trek offers you see the culture of large villages Gurung and Poon Magers.
